What's new with library databases?

Database News

New titles added to Credo Reference (September 29, 2008)
They keep adding good stuff to Credo Reference. The latest batch of new reference sources includes:
 
History databases have moved to EBSCO (June 30, 2008)
America: History & Life and Historical Abstracts have moved to EBSCO because their original ABC-CLIO interface has been discontinued.
 
Two databases move to EBSCO (May 20, 2008)
MEDLINE and Social Work Abstracts have moved from Ovid to a new provider, EBSCO.


New Databases

Communication and Mass Media Complete (added May 2008)
Search for articles from scholarly journals in communication, mass media, and related fields [More info]
 
Credo Reference (added February 2008)
A digital reference library of dictionaries, encyclopedias, thesauri, books of quotations, and subject-specific titles, covering many subjects, all from leading publishers. [More info]
 
GreenFILE (added March 2008)
Indexes information about environmental concerns such as global warming, sustainable agriculture, renewable energy, and more [More info]
 
JSTOR Arts & Sciences Collection VI (added May 2008)
This new addition to the JSTOR scholarly journal archive will eventually include a minimum of 120 titles, extending JSTOR's coverage in disciplines across the social sciences, with clusters focused in economics, education, linguistics, political science, and area studies.
 
OED Online (added December 2007)
Online version of The Oxford English Dictionary, the authoritative guide to the meaning, history, and pronunciation of over half a million words, both present and past, from across the English-speaking world [More info]
 
SPORTDiscus (added August 2008)
Definitive research tool for all areas of exercise, sport science, and sports medicine [More info]
